“Today, Fiera Foods was proud to give back to our city by supporting local children who have lost their homes in the St. James Town fire.
Back to school should be a hopeful, exciting time for children entering a safe and happy learning environment. But for affected families, this year will start out full of hardship and stress.
The challenges created by this fire will not be solved overnight. But if we can make this difficult time easier for affected Toronto children we’re happy to do so. With this in mind, Fiera Foods donated 150 gift cards so displaced families can go shopping for essential school clothing and supplies.
“As a business, Fiera Foods has benefitted tremendously from the diversity, opportunity and safety of Toronto. It’s with this history in mind that we are compelled to give back,” said Boris Serebryany, CEO and President of Fiera Foods. “Just as this city has been instrumental to our success, we want to play a role in its wellbeing. Helping these displaced children return to school with the supplies they need is our way of playing our part.”
Fiera Foods encourages any other interested residents or local businesses to support this cause by donating to the Canadian Red Cross or dropping off contributions to Community Matters, on 260 Wellesley St. East.”
